Oh my gosh this is my first time seeing the Good News and it is soo needed. I would like to pass this on to other platforms of those who are feeling downhearted by the onslaught and not aware of the 'wins'!
Unfortunately some of these notions that portray the Democrats as the saviors to the working class citizens in the US is both unfounded and misguided. I completely endorse the tactic of protesting, but to what end? Putting Democrats in office to simply continue oppression and genocide? We had months of that under Biden (and decades of similar war crimes, homelessness, poverty, lack of affordable healthcare before his administration). What makes us think it will be any different once Trump is gone and/or the Blue team controls Congress? Is there any precedent for that occurring? NO.
Both the Red and Blue teams are equally beholden to the billionaire class, not us working folks. We need to be protesting and working towards a new system, not one political party or another.
Through solidarity across the workers will we win. Divided across parties, genders, geographies, etc. we lose. That's the strategy of our current government--keep us divided and distracted. Let's band together and we will overcome these challenges!
Thank you for such a thoughtful, comprehensive gathering of hope by drawing together a snapshot of resistance actions across the nation recently in response to the ongoing regime.
Yes, the Resistance started slow and was very disheartening initially, but it's grown in size, scope, and assertion now, and the Regime is taking losses regularly. One particular sector that caved early to the administration's threats that really hurt the movement was the legal sector, but now many law firms have successfully pushed back, winning their cases in the District Courts (https://www.lawgazette.co.uk/news-focus/in-depth-law-firm-and-us-bar-strike-blows-against-trump-is-the-tide-turning/5123314.article). The war is far from won, tho. The SCOTUS has taken the Birthright Citizenship case.... in which they'll consider the legality of whether lower courts can stop an administration's political agenda. If they rule against the status quo, it'll be a BIG win for the Regime and a near-fatal blow to the Resistance. In the meantime, we celebrate the Resistance's growth and maturity over the past five months and prepare for the long battle ahead of us. The Regime won't crumble quickly or easily.
